FAQs
What Is My Size?
For most studios there can be a margin of error up to 1-2 mm.
💡 It's safer to round up because you can always file the press-on nail down to match your nail shape.
How Do I Apply?
FILE:
File your nails, if necessary, to match the shape of your press-on nails. This will not be possible once the nails have been applied.💡 There is a learning curve to applying press-ons, it will get easier over time, we promise!
CLEAN:
1. Soak your nails in warm water and remove excess skin.💡 To save time, a hot shower will do just as well!
2. Push back your cuticles and trim your nails.
💡 Pushing your cuticles back is crucial to making your press-ons look natural and long lasting, as your nail bed is constantly growing.
💡 By not trimming your nails all the way down, you're leaving more room for the press-on nails to adhere to your natural nails, hence providing a larger base for the press-ons to grab onto!
💡 Pay attention to the corners of your nails as they may peek out.
3. Use alcohol, acetone, or nail dehydrator to wipe off any oil, nail polish, or dirt with alcohol, this helps the press-ons to better adhere to your nails.
💡 Nail dehydrator is just alcohol mixed with acetone, no need to waste your money!
💡 Use cotton balls and be generous with the amount of solution you use!
CHOOSE APPLICATION:
Depending on how long you would like your press-ons to last and whether you'd want to be able to re-use them, here are a few options for application:
💡 We recommend adhesive tabs because we want you to get as many uses out of our nails as possible!
Method | Lasts | Nail Reusability | Application | Removal |
---|---|---|---|---|
Prayer Rings | As long as needed | Yes | 30 second | 10 seconds |
Adhesive Tabs |
1-7 days | Yes | 10-20 minutes | 5 minutes |
Nail Glue | Up to 14 days | Unlikely | 10-20 minutes | 15-30 minutes |
UV Gel Glue | Up to 30 days | No | 10-20 minutes | 30-60 minutes |
INSTALL:
Once you have applied your adhesive of choice, bring the nail up to your cuticle and lay it down at a 45 degree angle.
💡 Heating up the adhesive tabs with a hair dryer is a great trick for removing air bubbles and a better adhesion!
💡 Start from your pinky and save your index and thumb for last, trust us it's so much easier this way!
PRESS:
Apply pressure to the center of the nail while pinching both sides for 20 seconds for the adhesive to solidify and hold its shape.
REVIEW:
Annnnd you are done 🎉 ! Enjoy your amazing new nails!
